Definition

Natural rubber (NR) is a naturƆly occurring high-molecular-weight elastomer obtained from the latex secreted by the rubber tree (primarily Hevea brasiliensis). After undergoing coagulation, drying, and other processing steps, it becomes a key polymeric material. Its main chemical component is polyisoprene.
